Frequently asked questions

All personal training sessions are carried out at Definition Body Coaching in Poppleton, York. This is a fitness centre with cardio equipment, strength machines and free weights. For insurance reasons I cannot travel to you, but we’ll have everything you need right here in York. You can find Definition Body Coaching at Unit 7, Evans Business Park, Rose Avenue, York, YO26 6RR.

I recommend a minimum of one session per week to get the best from your personal training. Many people have one or two sessions with me and do their own exercise throughout the rest of the week. I also recommend a minimum three-month commitment, or 12 sessions, to see results. You can stay with me for as long as you like, or work towards a specific goal, such as training for an event.

You’ll get your own bespoke training plan, but we like to keep it varied and fun! Some of my favourite exercises include squats, deadlifts and high-intensity interval training. Of course, every plan is tailored to your personal abilities, focusing on lifestyle changes rather than moving mountains. If you can run up a flight of stairs without panting, that’s a win!

I have worked with children as young as 14. There are no age limits providing every exercise is carried out safely and in line with your abilities. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 18.

I am a Level 3 personal trainer and Level 2 instructor with experience dating back to 2007. I am also an advanced functional trainer, strength and conditioning coach, sports performance coach, and kettlebell instructor.
